Highlighting Our Veterans: Landon Fabre

Deep beneath the Pacific waters, precision and dedication weren't just values – they were necessities for Torpedoman Landon Fabre aboard the USS Louisiana. Today, those same qualities drive Landon’s work in quality control at Performance Contractors, where he's spent nearly four years building on the foundation his military service provided.

Military service runs deep in Landon's family. Inspired by his grandfathers—one who fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II and another who served in the Navy during the 1950s—he felt a calling to serve. "I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself," he said.

During his five years of Naval service, Landon rose to the rank of E-5, specializing in torpedo demployment systems and weapons training. His time on the ballistic missile submarine stationed in Bangor, Washington, taught him the exacting standards and attention to detail that would later prove invaluable in industrial construction.

"The military helped develop me as both an adult and a professional," Landon reflects. "It taught me rigorous discipline and helped me land opportunities I wouldn’t have previously had." That foundation led him to industrial construction, where he found a direct connection between his military training and the industry’s demands for quality and efficiency. Starting in Project Services at Performance, Landon later transitioned to the QA/QC team, where he applies his keen eye for detail to ensure projects meet the highest standards.

Performance's commitment to veterans proved crucial in Landon's civilian career launch. Through the Skillbridge program, he gained hands-on experience with the company before completing his service. "Performance truly values their veterans," he said. "From specialized programs to dedicated veteran representatives like Michael Farve, who ensure smooth transitions.”

The Navy's core values – honor, courage, and commitment – continue to guide Landon's work. "At Performance, I've had the opportunity to start small and progressively increase my responsibility and workload which has led to my personal development as a leader…much like the military." This parallel between military advancement and civilian growth made Performance feel like a natural next step in his career.

Beyond his professional life, Landon finds joy in family time with his wife and two sons, maintaining an active lifestyle, and pursuing his artistic passions through artwork and reading. His balanced approach to life reflects the discipline and structure learned during his military service, while his creative outlets showcase the adaptability that makes veterans such valuable team members.

To fellow veterans considering Performance, Landon's message resonates with conviction: "It's truly something special and well worth taking the opportunity.”
