Southern Company – Kemper County IGCC Project

The Kemper County Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle Project was designed to run Lignite Coal through a Gasification Process creating a Pressurized Gas or Syngas that could then power the Combined Cycle within the facility to produce electricity.

This new technology was also designed to be a Zero Discharge facility thereby capturing the various chemicals for utilization or commercial purposes. Our scope included 823,743 linear feet of pipe, 2,451 pieces of process equipment, and 15MM manhours.
