Performance Contractors earned an ABC Excellence in Construction Eagle Award for executing phase 2 construction of a new Diesel Hydrotreater Unit in Dickinson, North Dakota.
Marathon sought to convert its recently acquired Dickinson Refinery into a 100% Renewable diesel plant to meet RINS and LCFS obligations. In order to accomplish this, Performance Contractors needed to convert the existing 8,000 BPD Diesel Hydrotreater (DHT) and install a new 10,000 BPD DHT to primarily process refined soy-bean oil and distiller’s corn oil to meet industry standards.
This 13-month construction was contracted at $2.4 million and required upfront planning and consistent communication to install the new DHT unit, consisting of 55 modules, 625 Tons of structural steel construction, 30,000 LF pipe and 35 pieces of equipment set. Our team successfully completed this project executing over 238,000 safe working man-hours and a TRIR of 0.00 and 0 lost time injuries, earning an Eagle Distinction at the ABC 2021 EIC Awards.
