At Performance Contractors, excellence isn't measured by accolades—it's built into every weld, every foundation, and every safety protocol we implement. While our focus remains steadfast on delivering exceptional results through safe, high-quality execution, industry recognition serves as a powerful validation of our "We Build Better" philosophy. This commitment to excellence has once again been acknowledged at the highest level, with Performance Contractors receiving multiple prestigious awards at the Associated Builders and Contractors' (ABC) 2025 Excellence in Construction® Awards ceremony.
Performance Contractors has secured two coveted Eagle Awards, ABC's highest recognition for construction excellence. The first Eagle Award recognized the Chevron Light Tight Oil Project in Pasadena, Texas, a transformative initiative that enhanced the refinery's capacity and diversified its portfolio. This complex project involved installing over 67,000 linear feet of piping, setting 60 pieces of equipment, and completing nearly 2,000 tie-ins—all while maintaining an impressive safety record of 1.4 million SIF-free work hours.
The second Eagle Award acknowledged Performance's exceptional execution of the Total Energies 2024 SM Turnaround Project in Carville, Louisiana. This challenging project involved a comprehensive overhaul of the facility's styrene monomer and EBIII units, including the replacement of two critical reheaters requiring precise execution of large-diameter welds up to 84 inches. Despite unexpected challenges, including an emergency convection section replacement, the project was completed safely and efficiently.
Performance also earned three Pyramid Awards for excellence in construction for their work on the Exxon Baytown Olefins Plant 2X Furnace Retrofit TA Program, the Dow Eagleray STG Project, and Dow Project Pelican, further demonstrating the company's consistent delivery of high-quality industrial construction services.
In addition to these construction excellence awards, Performance Contractors demonstrated its commitment to developing the next generation of skilled construction professionals by sending six talented competitors to ABC's National Craft Championship. Logan Latiolais, Jakob Molloy, Micah Thames, Jordan Lange, Michael Jimenez, and Diego Ramirez represented the company across pipefitting, TIG welding, and pipe welding competitions, showcasing the depth of talent within Performance's workforce development programs.
The awarded projects showcase Performance Contractors' expertise in executing complex industrial construction projects while maintaining exceptional safety standards and delivering superior quality. The company's success at the ABC Excellence in Construction Awards reinforces its position as a leader in the industrial construction sector.
