The search for talented and driven employees is one Performance Contractors takes seriously. Our commitment to building a better workforce starts before candidates are even hired. Joining SkillsUSA in supporting and celebrating students pursuing careers within our industry, Performance is proud to be part of National Signing Day.
This year, more than 1,000 students across the country went through a rigorous application process, including interviews with hiring managers to be considered for and hired into high-paying industrial positions.
As students begin to rethink attending traditional colleges because of rising tuition and student loan costs, skilled trade programs are increasingly becoming a more popular option among graduating seniors. With a growing number of industrial job openings, SkillsUSA’s National Signing Day encourages students to consider careers in the industry, and is shining a public spotlight on students pursuing careers in the skilled trades.
“Just as we would celebrate a football player or any other athlete, we want to celebrate just as proudly our skilled tradesmen and women and their decision to pursue a career,” said Chelle Travis, executive director at SkillsUSA, in a CNBC article about the occasion. “What they do is essential work.”
Sharing a significant role with SkillsUSA and a program that is so crucial to our evolving industry, Performance looks forward to growing our nation’s talent pool and working with the next generation of our workforce.
