The Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance, Inc. (GBRIA) recognized the winners of its Eighth Annual Craft Workforce Development Excellence Awards. GBRIA presented the awards at a banquet on September 10 at Renaissance Baton Rouge in Baton Rouge, LA. Approximately 300 guests attended the event where Dr. Monty Sullivan, President of the Louisiana Technical Colleges System (LCTCS), addressed the group about the importance of strengthening our workforce together.
In the category of General Construction & Maintenance, For the Division III Size Category, Performance Contractors, Inc. was presented with the Award of Excellence.
The awards program recognized industrial construction and maintenance contract companies who invest in workforce development programs that include recruitment, assessment, training, career path development and retention of employees.
The nominating plants included: Axiall, BASF, The Dow Chemical Company, Eco Services, ExxonMobil, Formosa Plastics, Honeywell PMT, Marathon Petroleum, Motiva Enterprises, PCS Nitrogen, Shell Chemical and Westlake Chemical.
